All players form a single team. In the first round (level 1) each player receives 1 card, in the second round (level 2) they receive 2 cards, and so on. At each level the team members must put down alltheir cards in increasing orderin the centre of the table on an open stack, one after the other.

You can never truly win The Game. Anyone who overhears someone announce "I just lost The Game" or "You just lost The Game" also loses The Game. After losing you just start playing again.

The Game is a mind game in which the objective is to avoid thinking about The Game itself. Thinking about The Game constitutes a loss, which must be announced each time it occurs. It is impossible to win most versions of The Game.
